  5. Old Croton Aqueduct And Ossining Weir

======

We recently visited the New York Botanical Garden to take advantage of the free grounds admission on Wednesday.

The Peggy Rockefeller Rose Garden was barely in bloom – just a handful of the dozens of bushes had flowered. So we returned two weeks after our initial visit, and what a difference!

Every rose bush is blooming at The Peggy Rockefeller Rose Garden

The range of colors was impressive:

red roses
Reds were very red
plum colored roses
Plums were indeed Plum Perfect
pink and light purple roses
Pinks and light purples were Easy on the Eyes
Orange red roses
The camera can’t do justice to this orange/red

We loved the fun names:

red roses called super hero
like Super Hero…
yellow white roses called popcorn drift
…and Popcorn Drift
roses named after bette midler
Bette Midler has a rose named after her…
yellow roses named for julia child
…as does Julia Child
light purple roses
…and The Little Prince
